June is Men’s Health Month and for the men in our community, here’s something worth thinking about.
Research from the CDC has shown that women are about 33% more likely than men to visit the doctor, and women are far more consistent with preventive and screening care. That gap matters, because catching things early is one of the most powerful tools we have in medicine.
The good news? A handful of routine lab tests can give you (and your provider) a clear picture of your health including cholesterol, blood sugar, kidney and liver function, and condition-specific markers like PSA when appropriate.
You don’t have to overhaul your life this month. Just start with a conversation.
