BK Virus by Quantitative NAAT, Urine

Specimen:Collect:
  • Random Urine in Sterile Specimen Container
Submit:
  • Random Urine in Cobas PCR Urine. Submit Refrigerated.
Special Handling:
  • Immediately transfer urine to a Cobas(R) PCR urine sample tube. Liquid level must be between the black fill lines on the tube.
    Stability: Applies to Urine in media.
    If specimens are unable to be placed immediately into a cobas PCR media tube, samples can be stored at 2° to 30°C for up to 24 hours.
Rejection Criteria:
  • Under-or over-filled tubes. Specimens in any transport media other than indicated.
