Collect

  • One SST

Submit

  • 2 mL (Min:1 mL) Serum in Standard Transport Tube. Submit Refrigerated. Submit in a Standard Transport Tube.

Special Handling

  • Avoid Repeated Freeze/Thaw Cycles
  • Separate serum from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection
  • Parallel testing is preferred. Mark specimen plainly as "acute or convalescent." Convalescent specimens must be recieved within 30 days of acute specimens.

    Submit Patient History.

  • Bacterially Contaminated Samples
  • Grossly Lipemic Samples
  • Heat inactivated
  • Hemolyzed specimens
  • Turbid Specimens
