Specimen:	Collect:	Umbilical Cord in Sterile Specimen Container
	Submit:	Umbilical Cord in Sterile Specimen Container. Submit Refrigerated.
	Special Handling:	Collect at least 8 inches of umbilical cord. Specimen Preparation: Drain and discard any blood. Rinse the exterior of the cord segment with normal saline or an equivalent. Pat the specimen dry and place in container for transport. Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated. Collection kits available. Please contact Interpath Client Services at 1-800-700-6891.
