- Umbilical Cord in Sterile Specimen Container

- Umbilical Cord in Sterile Specimen Container. Submit Refrigerated.
Special Handling
- Collect at least 8 inches of umbilical cord.
Specimen Preparation: Drain and discard any blood. Rinse the exterior of the cord segment with normal saline or an equivalent. Pat the specimen dry and place in container for transport.
Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated.

Tissue that is obviously decomposed
