Specimen:Collect:
  • One SST

Also Acceptable:
  • One Red Top
Submit:
  • 1.5 mL (Min:0.3 mL) Serum . Submit Refrigerated. Submit in a Standard Transport Tube.
Special Handling:
  • Separate from cells ASAP
  • Or within 2 hours of collection.

    "PRE" and "POST" pneumococcal vaccine specimens can be submitted together or separately.

    "POST" samples should be drawn 30 days after immunization and if shipped separately must be received in lab within 60 days of "PRE" sample.

    Clearly label "PRE" or "POST" samples.
