Specimen:

Collect

  • One Lavender (EDTA)

Also Acceptable:
  • One Pink Top (EDTA)
  • One Yellow Top (ACD Tube)

Submit

  • 3 mL (Min:1 mL) Whole blood in 4 mL Lavender (EDTA). Submit Refrigerated.

Also Acceptable:
  • 3 mL (Min:1 mL) Whole blood in 6 mL Pink Top (EDTA). Submit Refrigerated.
  • 3 mL (Min:1 mL) Whole blood in Yellow Top (ACD Tube). Submit Refrigerated.

Special Handling

  • This test is not recommended for nonsymptomatic patients under 18 years of age.
