Specimen:Collect:
  • One Royal Blue (No Additive)

Also Acceptable:
  • One Royal Blue (EDTA)
Submit:
  • 2 mL (Min:0.5 mL) Serum in Trace Element Free Tube. Submit Ambient.

Also Acceptable:
  • 2 mL (Min:0.5 mL) Plasma in Trace Element Free Tube. Submit Ambient.
Special Handling:
  • Allow specimen to clot completely at room temperature.
    Separate from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection.
    Stability: If the specimen is drawn and stored in the appropriate container the trace element values do not change with time.
Rejection Criteria:
  • Specimens collected or transported in containers other than specified.
    Hemolyzed specimens.
