Special Handling
- Must be 0.5-1 ml saline in tube.
Stability: Ambient 1 hour for Trichomonas or 24 hours for other elements.
Rejection Criteria
- Dry Swab
- Swab not in saline
- Time and temperature are critical for recovery of motile trichomonas.
Process immediately after collection.
Do NOT refrigerate.
