4405	Culture - Fungus, Blood
Specimen:	Collect:	Blood Culture Bottle
	Submit:	Blood in Blood Culture Bottle. Submit Ambient.
	Special Handling:	Special blood culture bottles are required. Decontaminate skin with 70% alcohol followed by providone-iodine preparation. Allow disinfectant to remain on skin at least 2 minutes. After puncture site is disinfected, do not touch site. Collect 5-10 mL (0.5 - 4 mL for pediatrics) blood for each bottle required using a syringe. Decontaminate top of culture bottle and transfer blood into it. Site of specimen draw is required (e.g. left antecubital, A-line, etc).
