  • Ocular Fluid in eSwab
  • Vesicle Fluid in eSwab

Submit

  • 2 mL (Min:1 mL) Body Fluid in Sterile Specimen Container. Submit Ambient.

Also Acceptable:
  • 2 mL (Min:1 mL) CSF in Sterile Specimen Container. Submit Ambient.
  • Tissue in Sterile Specimen Container. Submit Ambient.
  • Conjuctival Swab in eSwab. Submit Ambient.
  • Ocular Fluid in eSwab. Submit Ambient.
  • Vesicle Fluid in eSwab. Submit Ambient.
  • Conjuctival Swab in Culturette-Aerobic. Submit Ambient.
  • Ocular Fluid in Culturette-Aerobic. Submit Ambient.
  • Vesicle Fluid in Culturette-Aerobic. Submit Ambient.

  • If aspirate is made with a needle and syringe. Specimen may be put into a sterile (urine) container.

Rejection Criteria

  • Leaking Container
  • Syringe with needle attached.
    Organisms submitted in liquid media other than eSwab.
