  • Catheter Urine in Sterile Specimen Container

Also Acceptable:
  • Catheter Urine in Urine Vacutainer

Submit

  • 15 mL (Min:5 mL) Catheter Urine in Sterile Specimen Container. Submit Refrigerated.

Also Acceptable:
  • 4 mL (Min:3 mL) Catheter Urine in Urine Vacutainer. Submit Refrigerated.
  • 3 mL (Min:1.5 mL) Catheter Urine in Sterile Specimen Container. Submit Refrigerated. Submit in a Standard Transport Tube.

Special Handling

  • Catheter collection in sterile container.
    Additional sources invasively collected urines. Nephrostomy tube suprapubic bladder aspiration.

Rejection Criteria

  • Non-catheter urine specimens.
    Clean catch urine specimens correct test code 4020.
