Collect

  • One SST

Also Acceptable:
  • One Green Top (Li Heparin)
  • One Red Top

Submit

  • 0.5 mL (Min:0.3 mL) Serum . Submit Refrigerated. Submit in a Standard Transport Tube.

Also Acceptable:
  • 0.5 mL (Min:0.3 mL) Plasma . Submit Refrigerated. Submit in a Standard Transport Tube.

Special Handling

  • Avoid repeated freeze and thaw cycles.
  • Minimize air exposure
  • Separate from cells ASAP
  • Due to special analytical handling this test cannot be added to previously drawn specimens.

Rejection Criteria

  • Heat inactivated
  • Hemolyzed specimens
