Specimen:Collect:
  • One Green Top (Li Heparin)

Also Acceptable:
  • One Green Top (Na Heparin)
Submit:
  • 4 mL (Min:1 mL) Whole blood in Green Top (Li Heparin). Submit Refrigerated.

Also Acceptable:
  • 4 mL (Min:1 mL) Whole blood in Green Top (Na Heparin). Submit Refrigerated.
Special Handling:
  • Measures saturation of hemoglobin with carbon monoxide.
    Do not remove cap, tube must remain sealed. Refrigerate within 30 minutes after collection. Specimen should be received within 24 hours.
Rejection Criteria:
  • Do Not Centrifuge.
    An opened tube.
    Specimens collected in EDTA
