Collect

  • CSF in Sterile Specimen Container

Submit

  • 1 mL (Min:0.5 mL) CSF in Sterile Specimen Container. Submit Refrigerated.

Special Handling

  • Cap sample to avoid evaporation
  • Separate from cells ASAP
  • Centrifuge to remove cellular material.
    Bacterial contamination may falsely decrease the glucose result.

  • Grossly Hemolyzed Samples
