- One Lavender (EDTA)
- One SST
Also Acceptable:
- One Pink Top (EDTA)
- One Red Top
Submit
- 2 mL (Min:1.5 mL) Serum . Submit Refrigerated.
- 4 mL (Min:1.5 mL) Whole blood in 4 mL Lavender (EDTA). Submit Refrigerated.
Special Handling
- Allow specimen to clot completely at room temperature
- Avoid Repeated Freeze/Thaw Cycles
- Separate from cells ASAP
- ESR sample must be refrigerated and reach laboratory within 12 hours.
