Collect

  • One Lavender (EDTA)
  • One SST

Also Acceptable:
  • One Pink Top (EDTA)
  • One Red Top

Submit

  • 3 mL (Min:2 mL) Serum . Submit Refrigerated. Submit in a Standard Transport Tube.
  • 4 mL (Min:1.5 mL) Whole blood in 4 mL Lavender (EDTA). Submit Refrigerated.

Special Handling

  • Separate from cells ASAP
  • ESR component must be refrigerated and tested within 12 hours.

  • Grossly Hemolyzed Samples
  • Grossly Lipemic Samples
  • Heat inactivated
  • Microbial Contamination
  • Particulate matter
