  • Two Lavender (EDTA)

Also Acceptable:
  • One Pink Top (EDTA)
Submit:
  • 3 mL (Min:1 mL) Plasma . Submit Frozen. Submit in a Standard Transport Tube.
Special Handling:
  • Critical Frozen
  • Separate aliquot required for each frozen test ordered
  • Separate from cells ASAP
  • Patient should not be on any steroid, ACTH, or hypertension medication, if possible, for at least 48 hours prior to specimen collection. Check with physician before stopping any medications. Morning fasting specimens are preferred; non-fasting specimens are acceptable
