Interpretive Data:

This assay was performed by illumigene, which detects the target regions of Bordetella pertussis genomes by DNA amplification.
Performance has been established with nasopharyngeal swab specimens only.
It is a qualitative assay and does not distinguish between viable and nonviable organisms.

Negative results do not preclude infection and should not be used as the sole basis for treatment or other patient management decisions.
Results of some tests may be reported as invalid due to substances in the specimen that are inhibitory to PCR amplification, such as Zincum Gluconicum (7%) and Casein (>5mg/mL).
Components:
  • 2773 - B PERTUSSIS DNA
