Specimen:Collect:
  • One Blue Top (Na Citrate)
Submit:
  • 2 mL (Min:1 mL) Plasma . Submit Frozen. Submit in a Standard Transport Tube.
Special Handling:
  • Avoid Repeated Freeze/Thaw Cycles
  • Patients on therapeutic coagulation drugs, including but not limited to Dabigatron, and Unfractionated Heparin are known to cause interference with testing. Discontinue drugs for minimum 24 hours prior to any Fibrinogen testing.

  • Clotted Specimen
  • Frozen Whole Blood
  • Grossly Hemolyzed Samples
