Specimen:

Collect:

One 7.5 mL SST

Submit:

1 mL (Min:0.3 mL) Serum. Submit Refrigerated. Submit in a Standard Transport Tube.

Special Handling:

If acute and convalescent samples being submitted, label as such. Convalescent sample must be received in lab within 30 days.
Separate from cells ASAP
If Bordetella Abs are positive Immunoblot testing will be added.

Rejection Criteria:

Bacterially Contaminated Samples
Grossly Lipemic Samples
