Greater than or equal to 1:160 = Positive

A presumptive diagnosis of tularemia can be made based on a four-fold rise in titer between acute and convalescent titer or an acute titer of 1:160 or greater in the presence of compatible symptoms.
Equivocal titer may be due to crossreactive antibodies (Brucella, Yersinia or Proteus OX19)
