24 HR Urine Collection Only Keep Specimen Refrigerated During Collection State Collection Time State Volume Specimen Preparation: Specimen should be delivered to laboratory ASAP following collection. Freeze specimens immediately after aliquoting. Do not exceed 4 mL in tubes. Transport four separate 4 mL aliquots from a well-mixed 24-hour urine collection according to the following specifications: 1st aliquot: Dispense 4 mL of specimen into the Sulfamic Acid Tube. Mix well, then freeze. 2nd aliquot: Dispense 4 mL of specimen into the Sodium Carbonate Tube. Mix well, then freeze. 3rd aliquot: Dispense 4 mL of specimen into an Unpreserved Tube. Mix well, then freeze. 4th aliquot: Dispense 4 mL of specimen into an Unpreserved Tube. Mix well, then freeze.) Use special collection kit - two aliquots unpreserved and frozen, 2 preserved aliquots frozen. |
