Special Handling:

Avoid Repeated Freeze/Thaw Cycles
Freeze specimen if held for more than 72 hours before reaching lab.

Rejection Criteria:

Stool in preservative
Stool preserved in 10% formalin, merthiolate formalin, sodium acetate formalin or polyvinyl alcohol may NOT be used. stool in transport media such as Cary Blair and C&S can be used.
