Specimen:
  Collect: One 4 mL Gray Top

One 4 mL Lavender (EDTA)
One 4 mL Green Top (Li Heparin)
One 7.5 mL SST 
  Submit: One Whole blood in 4 mL Gray Top. Submit Refrigerated.

Also Acceptable
1 mL (Min:0.5 mL) Plasma. Submit Refrigerated. Submit in a Standard Transport Tube.
1 mL (Min:0.5 mL) Serum. Submit Refrigerated. Submit in a Standard Transport Tube. 
  Special Handling: Give 50 gm of glucola and wait 1 hour then draw specimen.
Patient does not need to be fasting. However, once glucola is administered they should not have anything else to eat or drink (except water) until the 1 hour sample is drawn.
