Specimen:
  Collect: Three 6 mL Red Top  
  Submit: Three 1 mL (Min:0.5 mL) Serum. Submit Refrigerated. Submit in a Standard Transport Tube.  
  Special Handling: Allow specimen to clot completely at room temperature
Avoid Repeated Freeze/Thaw Cycles
Separate from cells ASAP
Patient should fast a minimum of 10 hours.
Test should begin with collection of an 8:00 a.m. baseline Cortisol. Cosyntropin is injected IM, and samples drawn at 30 minutes and 60 minutes. Clearly label each sample with collection times. 
  Rejection Criteria: Use of separator tubes
