ImmunoCAP®

Interpath Laboratory is pleased to introduce allergen-specific IgE testing using Pharmacia Corporation's ImmunoCAP® IgE blood test to evaluate patients with upper respiratory disease, exogenous asthma and other conditions in which IgE mediation is suspected. This test, based on the most advanced in-vitro technology, provides options for both primary care physicians as well as allergy specialists.

Based on current public interest in conditions such as asthma and allergy, we believe your patients will be interested in learning more from you about their own upper respiratory symptoms and how to manage them effectively

Primary Care

Primary care physicians now have a clinically relevant means of confirming or excluding the presence of atopic disease in patients with nasal symptoms associated with common upper respiratory disease. It also further accurately identities specific allergen sensitivities in those patients with confirmed allergy, allowing primary care physicians to determine the most appropriate treatment or specialist referral.

Allergy Specialist

Findings in both the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (JACI, June 2000) and the Annals of Allergy (July 2001), support the acceptance of the ImmunoCAP Specific IgE blood test using quantitative kU/L as the new gold standard in serologic testing for specific IgE. ImmunoCAP specific IgE assays with results calculated in kU/L are the first to be FDA cleared for the quantitative measurement of specific IgE. We provide you with not only with the most accurate results by using the ImmunoCAP specific IgE blood test in our lab, but now the quantitative results that can be obtained from this technology that allows physicians to know the exact status of the patient.
